Why do you write?
For me when I started writing again it was an escapism. I wrote Falling for Grace when I was suffering with Post Natal Depression and PTSD. It was a great way to disappear out of my head and go exist in a world that I made up.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
An idea, a rogue thought, an advert, a music video….anything anywhere will spark the imagination. One of my wip is based on a radio clip that sparked the idea. Someone found a bag of money in a cab and I was like huh that could be fun. But obs throw in some London Criminal Mob people and some hot men and smut Any writing related tips you would like to share?
Any writing related tips you would like to share?
Just do it. I find its really easy to overthink, do what works for you, and just put words on a page. It’s okay not to know what you are doing. Remember why you write and embrace the journey.
Any advice for new writers?
Google is your friend but equally similar to above. Try not to overthink things. Which is so so hard. There is so much to learn on your way, especially if your self publishing. Writing is the easy part and at times it’s all exhausting and overwhelming BUT find your tribe and support each other. It’s not easy. But holding that thing that you created – no feeling like it!
Anything else you would like to share about your writing or writing process?
My writing process. I have to be honest I’m a terrible pantser. When I plot my characters go rogue. My writing process is just sitting down and writing, see what flows. Sometimes it’s a disaster, sometimes I crack myself up. But I always love it. With the exception of the blurb. I HATE the Blurb
Tell us about any hobbies?
My other creative outlet is art. I have an artist account and etsy shop where I sell abstract art. I’m a little obsessed with Alcohol ink, resin and acrylic Paints. I’m also a bit of a gamer.
Any pets?
Jax my feral springador. He appears on my insta ALOT
Favourite music genre and/or artist?
Oooooooooo this changes daily. Favourite band has to be Linkin Park or Incubus. They make an appearance at every writing session.
Favourite TV series?
Currently Alice in Borderlands. It’s a Japanese dystopia sci-fi show on Netflix. It’s subtitled but highly recommend.
Favourite food/meal?
Mum’s Sunday lunch – Roast Chicken. With all the trimmings. I get cross when she doesn’t do the Yorkshire puddings
Favourite season?
Spring
What genre/s do you like to read?
Romance and all sub genres, I also like a dystopian thriller.
What are you currently reading or what was the last book you read?
I just read the debut of JC Hawke Grand Lies (5* read) and I’m currently reading Meet me Halfway another debut by Dayane de Oliveira.
Any book recommendations?
Anything by Colleen Hoover but I keep telling people about Verity by her. Different than her usual and the Twist. I’m also a huge Jodi Ellan Malpas fan – This Man and am an absolute sucker for The Crossfire Series by Sylvia day.
Do you have a favourite author?
Colleen Hoover. Major fan girl here.
Anything else you would like to share about your personal life or interests?
I wear many hats, author and artist are just two. I’m a terrible procrastinator, and when I’m not covered in paint or writing I’ll be with my daughter.
