It seems like no time since I published my 2021 New Year’s Resolutions post, and here we are again in a new year. The time really does fly by.
All I can say is, that while 2021 started off a great year in terms of routine for my writing and reading, personal life changed and everything changed. You will probably have noticed how quiet things have been on the blog post front and social media front. 2022 is a year of trying to pick up on my 2021 resolutions, but with a new addition to the family to look forward to in the spring time, I’m not sure how well my habits will keep up. I love writing and reading and to make a career of any sorts would be a dream come true, but as much as I love it, family must always come first. So, if I become quiet again, please bear with me, I will be back.
What I Hope for in 2022:
Early April, I hope to self publish my first manuscript. It’s true what they say, breaking into the world of traditional publishing is as hard as they say, and I simply do not have the patience to wait any longer. I’d love to share my novel with you and hope you gain as much pleasure reading it, as I did from writing it.
In preparation for the release, I have so much to think about. If anyone is interested in being an ARC reader, please get in contact with me as I need to build an ARC team. Newsletter sign-ups is something I started working on last summer and it fell through with personal life, so I’d like to try and work on that again too.
The cover for my novel has been designed, so watch out on social media for a cover reveal. I might also post on here for those of you who don’t have social media.
The first draft of my second manuscript is complete, so I have editing to work on and see when I can get it finished for publication.
As always, I have plenty to do, but need to figure out how to prioritise my workload around family and work life. If only I could follow my own advice on time management.
What I’ve Decided:
I can try and try as best I can to stick to a plan for getting things done, but the simple fact of the matter is, when you have a family, there is no such thing as a plan. Things never seem to work out for me when I set aside time to work on my website, social media or writing. Sometimes I face nothing but outside interruption, other times I have the time but the inspiration and brain power just isn’t there to concentrate on it.
It may mean it will take longer to get to where I want to be, but I’m going to just go with the flow of how things work out this year. With another little member to add to our family, family dynamics will change and it will be a big adjustment for us all. Whatever happens with my writing career, so be it. I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason.
What Are Your Goals?
You’ve heard about my plan for the year, to see where time and life takes me, but what are your goals for this year? I’d love to hear all about them on social media.
